ABOUT

Mr Julian Robins MBChB Msc FRCOphth PGCME

Mr Robins is an experienced consultant ophthalmic surgeon who practices at Clinica London Harley street, Blakelands Hospital Milton Keynes and is the sole Retinal Surgeon to the Bedford, Luton and Milton Keynes area. 


His Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree was earned from the University of Aberdeen before attending the University College London (UCL), Institute of Ophthalmology for his masters degree in Biology of Vision Research. He completed Ophthalmic Specialist Training (OST) in London, before completing fellowships in both Medical Retina and Vitreo-retinal Surgery at St Thomas’ Hospital London. 


He was appointed as Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Milton Keynes University Hospital in 2019 and was responsible for establishing the Retinal surgery service, the first and only unit of its kind in the region. 

He is currently lead for Retina in the Ophthalmology department at Milton Keynes, and also provides a specialist referral centre for patients from Luton & Dunstable Hospital. 

Academic Interests

Mr Robins is a keen clinical teacher, having completed a postgraduate qualification in medical education at Kings College London (KCL). He was appointed to represent the Royal College of Ophthalmologists for training of Ophthalmic Specialist Trainees in his role as College Tutor. He is also an education supervisor for the undergraduate students at the University of Buckingham.
